Amina joined the Support to Succeed (StS) programme in November 2024 after months of job searching left her feeling demotivated. With help from her key worker, she reviewed her career options, updated her CV, and began volunteering weekly at her local library to build confidence and gain experience. From this volunteering, she found that she was always keen to support members of the public and decided that this would be a transferable skill to pursue for her career.
Encouraged by her progress, Amina enrolled in a Level 2 Customer Service course, which enhanced her existing skills and led to a guaranteed interview. She then took part in another training course that placed her in a GP practice, where she worked hard and completed her placement.
Thanks to her dedication and the ongoing support from Leanne, who helped throughout the process, including interview prep and guidance, Amina was offered a full-time role as a receptionist at the practice. Her journey highlights the impact of personalised guidance, practical experience, and targeted training in helping participants move into meaningful employment. Amina expressed her gratitude to Support to Succeed and her key worker for helping her build confidence and find a new path.
