A participant in our Support to Succeed programme has taken a major step forward by securing his own flat in Stockport—an important milestone on his journey out of homelessness. After two difficult years of sofa surfing, he was connected with a Key Worker in Stockport who supported him through the process of applying for housing assistance. Together, they explored suitable options and worked through the key steps needed to strengthen his homeless application.
With this support, he was finally able to collect the keys to his very own home in Stockport, bringing an end to two years of instability and laying the foundation for a more secure and hopeful future.
But the good news doesn’t stop there. He has also received employability support, including the creation of a CV tailored to his ambitions, and is now ready to take the next step towards employment. He’s also been introduced to Learn My Way, a free digital learning platform that helps users build their confidence and skills online.
Beyond housing and employment, he’s becoming more engaged with the community and is excited to explore his interest in jewellery making once he’s settled into his new home.
